Battlefield 3 Premium Wallpapers of Back to Karkand
The first DLC, “Back to Karkand”, was announced before launch and was released on 13 December 2011 for PC and Xbox 360, while PS3 owners received it a week earlier. It was priced at $15 USD but was free for all users who purchased the limited edition. It features four maps remade from Battlefield 2, three new vehicles and ten new weapons.

At GDC 2012 DICE revealed it would release three more DLCs priced all at $15 each. The second DLC, “Close Quarters” arrives in June 2012 featuring four new infantry-oriented maps, ten new weapons, HD Destruction, ten new assignments, five unique Dogtags, and a new game mode, Conquest Domination, a Conquest mode adapted for smaller spaces.

The third DLC, “Armored Kill” arrives Q3/Q4 2012. Armored Kill is set to include new vehicles, specifically mentioned are tanks, ATVs, and mobile artillery, as well as new vehicle-oriented maps and what is called “the biggest map in Battlefield history”.

The fifth DLC, is arriving later. An EA spokesperson stated in a BF3 interview that the expansion involves a “character in the jungle, Apocalypse Now-style.” Otherwise, no other information has been released yet.

Battlefield Premium was first revealed through a mistake on an update for the PlayStation Store on May 30th, 2012. It was later confirmed by EA that it would be released on June 4th, 2012. The service has a onetime cost of US$49.99/£39.99/€49.99/AU$49.99 and is currently exclusive to Battlefield 3. It gives buyers exclusive features, including early access to DLC, dogtags, a knife, and more. A Premium Edition for Battlefield 3 was revealed at gamescom 2012. It will include Battlefield 3, Premium, and a Multiplayer head start kit. It will release in September 2012.

In Australia, the price for the service originally cost $49.99 AU across all platforms. When people started to buy it, they noticed that the prices were $66 AU for the Xbox 360 and $79.95 AU for the PS3 Due to a massive amount of complaints, the prices were lowered. However, only the PS3 received any benefits, and the price on the PS3 was reduced to $64.95 AU. PS3 owners were also refunded $14.95
